All to His Praise and Glory

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;It is too high, I cannot attain to it.” Psalm 139:6

This verse is a favourite of mine. I am simply overwhelmed by the magnitude of the Glory of our Lord. Though we often do so, to heap praise and even implied glory on the things of this world without having in the forefront that they are merely to reflect and magnify His glory is simply wrong. We are called in the beloved to reflect His glory by yearning after Him, depending upon Him, reflecting upon Him and thereby continuously magnifying Him throughout the minutes of life.

Open my eyes, that I may behold Wonderful things from Your law.” Psalm 119:18.

In our yearning for Him, we think His thoughts; thoughts that He has provided to us in the Scriptures. In thinking those thoughts and actualizing them in the world as they configure our walk in the life that He has provided, we glorify Him as He intended. Though this is too wonderful for us, yet it provides us a way to reflect what He intends. Even in our stumbling weakness and failures as we walk through the world of flesh, our thinking of His thoughts in our struggles glorifies Him nonetheless, for we are His.

I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:14

They are wonderful because they reflect His glory. We are His and what a incredible gift it is that He would reveal that to us, allowing us to think more clearly and marvel at His glory in all creation. He shows us, that we might praise and worship Him alone.

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21

Truly, as our eyes are opened and the world is revealed as it reflects His glorious character in every leaf and every nuance, we are called to singular worship and praise through all of life.

That we are in the Beloved – what a gift of grace and His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13) ! It is truly too wonderful to take in…
